MULTI-TURN ELECTRIC ACTUATOR

OVERVIEW
According to the requirements of ISO5210, multi-turn actuators can withstand the thrust from the valve and transmit to the valve a torque that makes it rotate at least one turn. Usually, multi-turn actuators need to complete multiple turns, and gate valves need to be equipped with lifting stems. They require multi-turn actuators to perform multiple turns of rotation. Therefore, multi-turn actuators are equipped with hollow shafts to drive the gate valve stem. They operate gate valves, globe valves, and other valves by outputting torque. Manual operation of valves using handwheels is also a standard feature of actuators. The control unit processes data to operate the actuator in the opening and closing directions. Usually, the control unit serves as an electrical interface with the DCS operating system, equipped with local control and integrated into the actuator.

Protection class
The seal protection complies with the EN 60529 standard and the protection level has been upgraded to IP68. IP68 means that it can be immersed in water at a depth of 8 meters for up to 96 hours. During the immersion period, 10 operations can be performed.

Corrosion protection
The product's high level of corrosion protection determines its durability. The corrosion protection system is based on chemical pretreatment and each component is powder-coated in two layers. According to the corrosivity classification according to ISO 12944-2, we offer various corrosion protection grades to suit different application environments.
Explosion-proof grade
The principle of explosion-proof equipment design is that the equipment itself will not become a source of ignition in an explosive environment, nor will it produce sparks or overheat the surface The explosion-proof grade is ExdeII CT4/T3Gb; Exd IICT4/T3Gb

Curing agent layer

First powder coating layer
This layer is an epoxy-based powder coating. This layer ensures the best adhesion between the shell surface finish and the coating
Second powder coating layer
This layer is a polyurethane-based powder coating. This layer is the main barrier against corrosion from chemicals and weathering.
The optimized powder cross-spray curing method creates the best corrosion resistance.
CONTROL MODE
External control All actuator signals, such as limit switch signals, torque switch signals, motor thermal protection and valve position, can be transmitted to the external control device for further processing. When designing the control logic architecture, it is necessary to fully consider the necessary protection mechanisms and minimize the delay time.
The contactor device used to control the operation of the motor is installed in the external control device and connected to the actuator via a cable.
When a local control operation interface is required, the local control operation interface should be installed near the actuator and integrated with the external control device.
Integrated control
When the actuator is powered on, the actuator with integrated control unit can be operated by the operating elements of the local control. The control unit is fully adapted to the actuator. The actuator can be set up on site without connecting to the DCS system. Only the transmission and exchange of operating commands and feedback signals are required between the control system and the actuator. The on-off control of the motor is completed instantly in the device.
Fieldbus
The use of bus cables can save a lot of space in the control cabinet, and it is more obvious that the traditional input and output signal line connection is outdated. The use of two-core cables simplifies the commissioning phase and greatly reduces the cost of cables in the long-distance field.
Another major advantage of fieldbus technology is the transmission of preventive maintenance and diagnostic information to the control room. Therefore, fieldbus technology integrates all fieldbus devices into the asset management system to support the safety protection measures of field device utilization. Actuators equipped with intelligent integrated control units can be applied to various common standard types of fieldbus systems in process automation.
