Installation

Structural Features
Plastic ball valves have the characteristics of simple structure, small size, light weight, low material consumption, small installation size, rapid switching, 90° reciprocating rotation, and small driving torque. They are used to cut off, connect, and regulate the medium in the pipeline. Good flow control characteristics and shut-off sealing performance.
Plastic ball valves can transport mud with minimal accumulation of liquid at the pipe mouth. At low pressure, a good seal can be achieved. Good adjustment performance. The streamlined design of the plastic ball valve reduces fluid resistance loss and can be said to be an energy-saving product.
The valve stem is a through-stem structure, which has been quenched and tempered and has good comprehensive mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and scratch resistance. When the ball valve opens and closes, the valve stem only rotates and does not move up and down. The packing of the valve stem is not easily damaged and the sealing is reliable. It is fixed with the taper pin of the butterfly plate, and the extended end is designed to prevent the valve stem from collapsing when the connection between the valve stem and the butterfly plate breaks accidentally. The connection methods include flange connection, clamp connection, butt welding connection and lug clamp connection. The driving forms include manual, worm gear transmission, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic linkage and other actuators, which can realize remote control and automatic operation.
Working Principle
The relationship between the opening and flow rate of a plastic ball valve basically changes in a linear proportion. If it is used to control flow, its flow characteristics are also closely related to the flow resistance of the piping. For example, if two pipelines are equipped with the same valve diameter and form, but the pipeline loss coefficient is different, the flow rate of the valve will be very different.
If the valve is in a state of large throttling amplitude, cavitation is prone to occur on the back of the valve plate, which may damage the valve. It is generally used outside 15°. When the plastic ball valve is at a medium opening, the opening shape formed by the valve body and the front end of the butterfly plate is centered on the valve axis, and the two sides form different states. The front end of the butterfly plate on one side moves in the direction of the water flow, and the front end of the butterfly plate on the other side moves in the direction of the water flow.
Therefore, one side of the valve body and the valve plate form a nozzle-shaped opening, and the other side is similar to a throttle-shaped opening. The flow rate on the nozzle side is much faster than that on the throttling side, and negative pressure will be generated under the throttling side valve. Rubber seals often come off. Plastic ball valves and butterfly stems do not have self-locking capabilities. In order to position the butterfly plate, a worm gear reducer must be installed on the valve stem.
The use of worm gear reducer not only makes the butterfly plate self-locking, allowing the butterfly plate to stop at any position, but also improves the operating performance of the valve. The operating torque of plastic ball valves has different values due to different openings and valve opening and closing directions. For horizontal ball valves, especially large-diameter valves, the torque generated by the water depth and the head difference between the upper and lower valve shaft cannot be ignored. In addition, when an elbow is installed on the inlet side of the valve, bias flow will occur and the torque will increase. When the valve is at the intermediate opening, the operating mechanism needs to self-lock due to the effect of hydrodynamic torque.
