OVERVIEW

The gate valve's opening and closing parts are the gates, and the gate's movement direction is perpendicular to the fluid direction. ACTION MODE

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Advantages

1. Small flow resistance. The medium channel inside the valve body is straight, the medium flows in a straight line, and the flow resistance is small.

3. The height is large and the opening and closing time is long. The opening and closing stroke of the gate is large, and the lifting is carried out by the screw.

4. Water hammer phenomenon is not easy to occur. The reason is the long closing time.

5. The medium can flow in any direction on both sides, which is easy to install. The two sides of the gate valve channel are symmetrical.

6. The structural length (the distance between the two connecting end faces of the shell) is small.

7. The shape is simple, the structural length is short, the manufacturing process is good, and the application range is wide.

8. The structure is compact, the valve rigidity is good, the channel is smooth, the flow resistance is small, the sealing surface is made of stainless steel and hard alloy, the service life is long, the PTFE packing is used, the sealing is reliable, and the operation is light and flexible.

 

Disadvantages

1. Generally, the gate valve has two sealing surfaces, and the processing and manufacturing are more complicated than the globe valve.

2. There is relative friction between the sealing surfaces, which causes great wear and tear. It is inconvenient to repair the worn sealing surfaces.

3. The size of the valve cavity structure is large, which results in a long structure length, large external dimensions, large installation space, and large-diameter gate valves are particularly bulky.

4. The valve opening and closing time is long.

5. It can form a closed valve cavity, so a pressure relief structure should be set to prevent abnormal pressure rise in the cavity when necessary.

Heat treatment

b.410/420 quenching and tempering treatment (quenching + tempering)

The material of this series is martensitic stainless steel, which is an excellent cavitation-resistant material. It must be quenched and tempered when used in high-temperature and high-pressure difference situations. The purpose of quenching and tempering treatment is to greatly improve the hardness of the material and extend its service life under harsh working conditions.
