Protection level can be customized

IP 67

The standard configuration of the SD Actuator Controls has a sealing protection rating of IP 67 according to the EN 60 529 standard. Actuators with this standard seal protection rating can be submerged to a depth of 1 meter and operate for up to 30 minutes.

IP 68

The SD actuator controls are capable of improved sealing protection IP 68 according to EN 60 529. This grade can withstand submersion up to 6 meters, 72 hours of continuous placement, and 10 operations under water.

To ensure the requirements for sealing class IP 68, suitable cable glands are required. If the customer has a request, SD can provide it, but this is not part of the scope of supply of the standard configuration.

P1-Standard paint system

Aluminium castings go through a multi-stage cleaning and chrome-free surface conversion pre-treatment process to provide an excellent surface for powder coat to beapplied with strong adhesion.

The steel hand/auto lever is plated to apply a continuous unbroken sacrificial zinc alloy layer which ensures long term corrosion protection.

The iron base is submerged in zinc phosphate solution before being cold water rinsed.

All surfaces are then coated with an architectural grade

polyester powder coat with excellent exterior durability and colour retention.

P1 provides a hard coatingresistant to mechanical damage such as chips and scratches.P1 is optimised for inside or outside applications in normal onshore enviroments.

P2-Standard paint system plus offshore coating combination

Aluminium castings receive the same treatment as P1.

The steel hand/auto lever and iron base are both treated with the PX coating (detailed below).

P2 provides cost effective improvement to corrosion

protection optimised for coastal and marine applications.

Overall film thickness:

100 um for aluminiumcomponents

320 um for steel and iron components

PX-3 coat offshore wet paint system

All surfaces are abrasive blast cleaned before receiving two coats of high build epoxy,followed by a polyurethane top coat.

PX provides a high level of corrosion protection in harsh environments with a high durability.PXis designed for offshore and marine applications.
