Three-eccentric butterfly valve
If the valve stem axis deviates from the disc center and the body center at the same time, and the valve seat rotation axis has a certain angle with the valve body channel axis, it is called a triple-eccentric butterfly valve.
The first eccentricity: the valve shaft is located behind the valve plate shaft, allowing the seal to tightly surround and contact the entire valve seat.
The second eccentricity: the centerline of the valve shaft deviates from the centerline of the pipe and valve, which avoids interference from the opening and closing of the valve.
The third eccentricity: the valve seat cone axis deviates from the valve shaft centerline, which can eliminate friction during the closing and opening processes and achieve a uniform compression sealing effect around the entire valve seat.
Traditional butterfly valves all use positional sealing, but the emergence of triple eccentric butterfly valves has changed the sealing structure of traditional butterfly valves, and positional sealing has become torsion sealing.
A simple explanation is that the triple eccentric butterfly valve no longer relies on the elastic deformation of the valve seat to achieve sealing, but relies on the contact surface pressure between the butterfly plate sealing surface and the valve seat to achieve sealing.
