Electric butterfly valves offer the following key advantages:

* Compact structure and small footprint: The thinner butterfly valve is particularly suitable for installation in water plant piping layers or dense piping systems where space is limited.
* Rapid opening and closing, easy operation: Opening and closing is achieved simply by rotating the butterfly plate 90°. The electric actuator enables rapid action and remote/automatic control.
* Excellent flow regulation performance: By controlling the opening angle of the butterfly plate, the flow rate within the pipeline can be precisely adjusted to meet process regulation requirements.
* Low fluid resistance: When fully open, the valve plate offers minimal obstruction to the medium, resulting in low pressure loss and good energy efficiency.
* High cost-effectiveness: For valves of the same diameter, the purchase and installation costs of butterfly valves are typically lower than those of gate valves and ball valves.
* Reliable sealing and long service life: Butterfly valves using soft seals such as rubber or PTFE can achieve zero leakage and excellent sealing performance. Metal-sealed butterfly valves are even more wear-resistant and durable.

When selecting a valve, consider the following:

* Valve Body Material and Lining:
* Freshwater Environment: Valve bodies are commonly made of ductile iron with an epoxy resin coating for corrosion protection. EPDM sealing rings are commonly used, suitable for ambient temperature water.
* Corrosive Environment: Valve bodies can be made of stainless steel or duplex stainless steel. Linings can be made of PTFE or F46, offering excellent corrosion resistance.
* Sealing Type:
* Soft Seal: Most water treatment applications use rubber or PTFE soft seals, providing good sealing performance, achieving bubble-level sealing.
* Metal Seal: Used in high-temperature, high-pressure, or abrasive applications, such as pipelines hydraulically transporting sludge. Triple-eccentric metal metal-seal butterfly valves are typically used.
* Connection Method:
* Waist-and-groove Type: Most commonly used, compact, lightweight, and low-cost. However, disassembly requires loosening the flange bolts at both ends simultaneously.
* Flanged Type: Comes with flanges, easy to install, disassemble, and maintain, but slightly heavier and more expensive.
* Double Flange Type: Connects to flanges at both ends of the pipeline, providing a more secure installation, suitable for large-diameter valves. Electric Actuator Selection:

On/Off Type: Controls only the full opening and closing of the valve.

Regulating Type: Accepts analog signals such as 4-20mA or 0-10V, allowing the valve to remain at any opening degree for precise flow regulation.

Protection Rating: In humid water treatment environments, the actuator protection rating should be at least IP67; for outdoor areas or areas that may be washed by water, it should reach IP68.

Power Supply: Select AC380V, AC220V, or DC24V according to site conditions.
