This type of check valve has two spring loaded "D" type discs placed on elbows across the valve through hole. This structure reduces the distance the center of gravity of the disc can move; compared with a single disc swing check valve of the same size, this structure reduces the disc weight by about 50%. In addition, due to the use of spring loading, this type of check valve reacts very quickly to backflow.
