Multi-disc swing check valves are generally used for nominal sizes greater than DN600 (24 inches) because as the diameter of the swing check valve increases, the weight and stroke of the valve will eventually become too large for normal operation. This type of check valve usually has a multi-seat diaphragm in the media channel, on which some conventional swing discs are placed.
